Brand Info: Franche Lippée (フランシュリッペ)
Hello everyone! I already keep a list of brands organized by tags that I already do research for, so I decided to make a blog to share my list! It's painstaking to do these things, and not everyone has the time to so I'll do it for you guys so you don't have to suffer. Plus, this is a fun excuse to show off my pieces. Franche Lippée is one of my favorite brands. Its designs are so unique and are just so darling! The brand was launched in 1999 and unfortunately ended in 2020. But, fortunately, soon after the head chief designer of Franche Lippée, Yukie Matsuura (松浦由起江), created her own brand, pause for effect, yukiemon! Plus, there was also a memorial book released that came with a tote bag, so life isn't too miserable.
While Franche Lippée isn't exactly a Mori kei brand, a lot of girlies, including me, incorporate their pieces in their outfits. I definitely think that some of their pieces are just Mori kei, though. Especially stuff from their sub-brand, Franche Lippée Black. It was made in 2009 with an older audience in mind, with more subdued colors and less playful patterns. The main Franche Lippée brand has some absolutely gorgeous prints that remind me of Claude Monet paintings. But I can definitely understand wanting some more casual pieces.
I mean, look at that gorgeous print! I own a dress that I feel is a pretty good example of how pretty these pieces are, too. She reminds me of a strawberry and has the cutest ladybug pattern! Even the slip dress that's underneath it also has ladybugs. The details on these pieces are insane. I just can't get enough of them.
I have some other Franche Lippée pieces, but I think I'll probably show them off in a different post. If not, they are on my Pinterest.
Franche Lippée also has a sister brand called Cherir la femme (シェリー ラ ファム) that was released in 2005 and also closed in 2020. And another called DANS SON POCHE (ファッションアイテム一覧), though I couldn't find much info on it. Franche Lippée and its sister brands also sold textiles and stationery.
Franche Lippée's website is currently defunct, but their socials are still up! Here's their Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. Here are extra resources if you're interested! Fashion Press, MAMAJO Blog, youkiya blog, Acrphilia, and WEAR.
