    Hi everyone! Today, we're talking about Cecil McBee. The brand started in 1984, but only became the Cecil McBee known today in 1996 when the Shibuya fashion scene started to boom. This era of Cecil McBee was all about being mature, sexy, and gorgeous. 

    It became popular to wear the paper bags you'd get from buying from Cecil McBee as a fashion accessory. They leaned into it by releasing "Shop Staff bags" in 2009. Cecil McBee has been in two fashion shows, the Tokyo Girls summer/spring 2009 show and the Tokyo Girls summer/spring 2017 show, along with other popular Shibuya 109 brands like Liz Lisa and Lip Service.

    Cecil McBee unfortunately closed all of their physical stores, including their flagship Shibuya store, in 2020 because of the pandemic. But the brand is still active online.
